VOLUMETRIC™ SECURES KEW BRIDGE RISE PROJECT

05/12/2022

A major residential project on the site of a former Citroen garage in Brentford, West London will bring over 400 new homes to the area. Ground was broken this month at the site, with construction scheduled for completion in 2026. The project management team, Hill Partnerships, and housing association L&Q have selected VOLUMETRIC™ to provide engineering design, manufacturing and installation of bathroom and MEP pods for the build.

The VOLUMETRIC™ team will be working in close collaboration with Hill Group and L&Q to deliver the pods, which will provide a single, unitised fast-track solution to the specification, procurement, and installation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing services. Developed using the same award-winning technology behind our modular housing range, bathroom and MEP pods are the latest addition to the VOLUMETRIC™ product portfolio.

The Kew Bridge Rise development will offer outstanding performance and specification, combining precision engineering with digital technology – reducing standard installation times by up to 90% and offering a 94% pre-manufactured value for modern methods of construction.

Ideally positioned to meet the client requirement that offsite manufacture will be an integral focus, bathroom and MEP pods are produced in our advanced factory facilities using a lean, process-driven approach for mass standardisation.

VOLUMETRIC™ pods offer numerous benefits to building programmes, including vastly improved installation times and the use of sustainable, renewable technology to exceed predicted Future Homes Standards. The use of pods also negates the requirement for additional MEP services on site, allowing for any potential risks or defects to be identified and corrected before installation.

Trevor Richards, VOLUMETRIC™ Operations Director, said, ‘The team is thrilled to be working with Hill Partnerships and L&Q on the Kew Bridge Rise project. We have already established a long-standing and highly successful relationship with Hill Group, having worked with them on several modular housing projects. The recent addition of bathroom and MEP pods to our product range is the result of intensive research and engineering development, underpinned by our extensive offsite experience. We are looking forward to delivering the first pods in the new year.’

VOLUMETRIC™ uses slimline lightweight steel frames for the pod structures, delivered fully assembled and tested for simple plug-and-play installation. Bathroom pods can also be ‘plugged’ into MEP infrastructure – optionally linking to our MEP pods. VOLUMETRIC™ adapts all pods to meet individual briefs and budgets, with a range of customisable internal finishes.
